Saudi Arabia Bechtel Co. is currently searching for specialists to work on the Jubail Industrial City project in Saudi Arabia. Jubail II will add a second industrial area to house up to 22 new primary industries. The project calls for the expansion of King Fahd Industrial Port, pipeline refurbishment, increasing capacity of the cooling system, and new desalination plants.
Structural Engineer
Location: Jubail, Saudi Arabia
SSA/08/STE Accountability:

* Review and comment on structural design and drawing packages prepared by A/Es. Coordinate and return review comments on submittals by the Industries for proposed new plants or plant expansion designs as it relates to interface with Royal Commission roads and utilities;
* Prepare structural design calculations and drawings including concrete and steel structures;
* Utilize computer and computer codes to perform analyses and designs of structures;
* Review proposed land allocation plans for new and existing industries expansion for compliance with Royal Commission Master Plan and availability of support utilities;
* Provide support to Construction Department and disposition of field changes by issuing DCNs and SCNs;
* Review of shop drawings and material submittals;
* Review, update and prepare revisions to civil/structural Guideline Specifications, Manuals and Design Criteria;
* Perform general civil engineering activities such as preparation of studies, reports and bid packages;
* Review and coordination with others for engineering packages related to schools, clinics, etc.

Key Technical Skills:

* College Graduate with B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering;
* Substantial experience in the analysis and design of concrete and steel structures and coordination of multi-discipline designs;
* Hands-on experience in field construction and/or operation of industrial plants;
* Sufficient knowledge of computers for analyses and design of structures;
* Knowledge of bridge design a or pump stations design.
